Location:Town south of Suna
A string of strange disappearances has been happening in the Southern Trade town, at request of their mayor we will be sending over a team to aid in locating the missing persons and finding the perpetrators if any.
Objective: Find out what exactly is happening in the town and apprehend those responsible if applicable.

Tonou sat on a boulder outside the entrance of the Southern Trade town. He was waiting for his fellow Genin Mianyi Kamiya. They would be attempting their second mission together, and had just returned from Kusa. Rejuvenated and refocused, it was time to finish another mission for Suna and continue to impress their superiors. They were Suna' brightest Genin, and even though Tonou didn't want to admit it, Mianyi really was among the strongest. Generally Tonou's mind was somewhere in the clouds, but today it was focused on a string and wood contraption in his hands. After catching the storeroom thief, Tonou had returned to the puppet shop. It was interesting, how chakra-induced string, mechanical ability, and crafty creations could be used in combat. Anytime Tonou would pull up his right index finger, the wooden contraption would fold over.

Regardless of how well she has performed in the tournament, Mianyi doesn't really consider herself a strong ninja. What happened in Kusagakure was a fluke, right? Mianyi can't really be that good. She just got incredibly lucky.

So it is that without much confidence in herself, Mianyi arrives for the mission, doubts plaguing her mind as to how well they are going to do. This seems a fair bit more tricky than their last mission together, which was just a stake out really.

Mianyi arrives at the entrance of the southern trade town, panting slightly from the exertion of trying to catch up and not be too late, but Tonou beat her there. It would have probably been better to leave Suna together, but Mianyi wouldn't dare speak up and voice her opinion on such matters. "Hi," she says softly, almost shyly, as she reaches Tonou. "S-see anything strange yet?" she asks with the barest gesture aimed towards the town.

Tonou nods his head from side to side. There hadn't been any sort of activity in the town since his arrival other than the usual bustle of a trade town. Everyone now and then someone would turn down an alley way, but they always appeared again somewhere. Tonou walks up to Mianyi and then removed her headband. "Investigating without any start is going to take forever. Best if you just get taken." Tonou had a feeling it would work, Mianyi being small and unrecognizable as a kunoichi without her headband. Tonou leaped up onto the nearest rooftop, as if to say, we are doing this whether you like it or now.

When Tonou approaches her to take off her headband she takes a step back before she realizes his intentions. She nods and looks around nervously, watching Tonou get into position before she keys her radio on, but leaves it tucked into a pocket and with the earpiece's volume turned low. This way Tonou can hear anything said around her, but he cannot give away her position, nor can anyone see her wearing the radio headset in the village. She looks like a civilian child, all on her own.

And then Mianyi sets off, resisting the strong urge to keep looking around to make sure Tonou is nearby. She'll just have to trust that he's there, but out of sight, even though it's hard to rely on that and not look nervous as all hell. She takes a deep breathe to steady her nerves before she walks into the town. First she walks through the central parts, hoping to catch the eyes of whatever people thieves there are in this place. After walking around and pretending to browse some shops, she heads for a less busy part of the village, hoping to lure someone after her when she gets away from the crowds, where someone might respond if she were to cry out.

Impressively, she manages to not scan the rooftops for Tonou once, even as she heads down a seemingly deserted street that makes her nervous. She stays alert, as if waiting for something to jump out of the shadows at her.

Instead, the threat comes from behind. Tonou would see a gentlemanly figure break off from the crowds of the main market that Mianyi wandered through and start to follow her down a street at a distance.

Tonou notices the man on the rooftop and follows him. It's obvious he is interested in Mianyi. Knowing that time is of the essence he jumps down, and grabs the man by the back of the neck. People stop what they're doing and look around, but Tonou is oblivious as he marches the man up to Mianyi, trying to get her attention. Once Mianyi notices what is going on, Tonou pushes the man down an alley way, nodding at Mianyi to follow. Down the alley way Tonou pulls out a Kunai. "Going to take her somewhere maybe? You know who we are, talk. Now."

"Hey, hey, hey! What's this all about?" The man cries out as he's been caught and is pushed around.

Mianyi quickly realizes what is going on. She can hear the brief commotion behind her and turns to look, nodding at Tonou when she sees he has scruffed a man. She follows them down the alley, her hands going into her sleeves in what appears to be a meek gesture, but is really just to have her hands near her kunai. She stands silently next to Tonou, ready to act if the man makes a move to get away.

"Look," he says holding up his hands, "I think you kids got the wrong idea, here. I was just walking home." He backs up towards the wall, then turns to bolt down the alley suddenly, knocking over a crate to slow the ninjas behind him.

Mianyi says nothing to Tonou, knowing he does not need to be told to follow the man. She bolts after the man, throwing kunai after him and aiming for his legs to impede his progress. She quickly jumps on the knocked over crate, using it to boost herself to the rooftops where she has an aerial advantage in the pursuit of the man.

Tonou sighs and watches as the man gets a few 100 feet away before making a couple handseals and activating Gone with the Wind. With the increased movement speed, Tonou dashes towards the man running away, easily clearing the crates in the process. He catches up the man running away, this time slamming him into the side of a market and then dragging him to another alley way. This time Tonou puts his kunai up to the man's throat. "One more time. Talk."

Mianyi perches on the roof above where Tonou is interrogating the man, looking over so that he is aware she is there and will pounce on him from above if he tries to escape from Tonou again.

The man grins rather cockily for someone who's got a kunai up against his throat. "You know what I think? I think that if you kill me, you'll never find out anything about us." He winks. "So, what's in it for me if I talk?"

"Us? So you're a group?" Tonou contemplates for a moment before taking the kunai, and putting against the man's thigh, applying pressure until he has started to bleed. To Mianyi, the man, and Tonou, its obvious that the answer to the suspect's question is he won't get tortured if he answers. Tonou's face shows zero remorse, instead, there is just boredom. "Would it bother you if you couldn't use this leg again?"

Mianyi keeps an eye on the situation, although she's pretty sure that Tonou has a good grip on the man at the moment, she's there looking for his back up so that Tonou doesn't get jumped.

The man winces as the kunai digs into his leg and he starts to bleed, but he then grins again. "All I'm hearing are reasons to not say anything." Except for taunts.

"Someone's coming," Mianyi whispers, mostly to Tonou, but of course the man overhears this and grins even more. She moves along the rooftops to get a closer look at the person coming down the alley, and when she sees a kunai in his hand and the deliberately stealthy movements he's employing to try and sneak up on Tonou, she knows it's time to act.

She uses Wind Release: Great Breakthrough to take the man by surprise. The attack from above flattens the man to the ground and Mianyi acts quickly to take advantage of this, jumping down to land nearby. She has neither the physical bulk nor strength to subdue or hold him like Tonou has done with the other man, so she clonks him on the head to knock him out and then starts to drag him to the side of the alley.

"Looks like we have someone else to ask..." Tonou finishes stabbing the man's leg. He then pulls it out and puts it to the mans throat. Tonou looks over to what Mianyi is doing. Tonou then turns back to the man, and with a deadly face and a serious tone, says "Very well then, I don't have time for you." Tonou begins to pressure the kunai against the man's neck just enough to break the skin.

Mianyi is dragging the man she caught out of the middle of the street to the side where she binds his hands and feet together with binding wire. Now he won't be able to get away when he wakes up. She looks over at Tonou and the other man and nods before she leaps back up to the roof, taking up sentinel duty there. No telling how many of these guys there are.

The man Tonou is trying to threaten sighs. "Alright, alright! We're supposed to be rounding up people and sending them off to our contact. He's this shadowy sort and we meet him outside the village every evening. I don't know who he is, where he's from, or what he's doing with people, but he pays really well!"

Tonou looks up at the sky, evening is within a few minutes. Tonou gives the man a hard punch, knocking him out. He leaps up on the roof and walks over to Mianyi. "Our mission was to investigate, and we did." Tonou thinks for a few minutes. During the silence he peers back to the busy streets. "I'm going to meet this man outside tonight. It may no longer be a C Rank mission. We could walk into a bad spot. But I'm going to."

Mianyi nods her head in general agreement with what Tonou has said. "Let's tie him up too and take them to the authorities. I'll go with you." She would actually rather not, but she would find it far less appealing to have to explain to the Kazekage why Tonou went alone to follow up on the information gleaned from the perpetrators of the kidnappings in this town.
