Coastal Patrol - C Rank [Finished]

Team 1 is going to the coast! Alas, it's not that kind of coast. It's the rocky, cold, and kind of windy type, so beach parties do not appear to be in Team 1's near future. Furthermore, they've got work to do investigating the rumors that suspicious individuals and increased boat traffic has been observed along that segment of the Land of Fire's coast line.

She waits for her team at daybreak at the gates of Konoha.

OOC: For character plot I'm going to assume this happened after the Kusa Tournament.

Daisuke sat on his bed staring at the floor. His alarm had been going off for close a half hour. It was set a full two hours before he was supposed to meet at the Konoha Gates for Team 1's second mission. Some habits die hard. Usually at this moment he would be stressing and anxious, throwing on clothes and triple checking to make sure he had everything for the journey. Instead Daisuke sat on his bed, lost in thought. The images of his last fight in Kusa burned into his memory, the fact that his two teammates had made it to the Semifinals and he had lost in the Quarters. Slowly Daisuke changed and prepared for the trek. He made his way through the village and arrived at the games precisely on time. Not early as usual, but not late, because after all Daisuke was still a punctual person. "Morning, Hokage-sensei," Daisuke said without the normal over-excited tone.

Arakui arrives at the village gates.

"All rested up. What a tournament!"

He looks for Krysto.

"Late as always, that Kaguya!"

He greets Daisuke and Hokage.

Tomoe smiles at the two genin who arrive punctually, but is somehow not surprised that Krysto is late. "This is becoming a frequent trend that we'll need to correct. But anyways, how are the two you doing?" she asks while they wait for Krysto to catch up, her gaze lingering on Daisuke who appears to be acting a little more different than usual.

(oh god im sorry! i had no idea this included me! ._.)

Krysto came running. This time, an old man had asked for his help moving some furniture in his shop. He finally came within distance of his team and grasped his knees as he caught his breath

"S- sorry ho- kage sensei"

He was exhausted after running half way around the city.

"There's our late one," Tomoe says with a smile. "Now let's be on our way." She turns to head out of the village, briefing them on the way. "We'll be investigating a section of the coastline where suspicious activity has been reported in the form of numerous individuals trafficking the area and some boats. I expect you all to observe what is going on first. There may be combat, depending on what we find, but after your last mission and the tournament, I expect the three of you will have little trouble with what we might encounter there."

It will take them the better part of the day to get to the coastline where they are to patrol. It is a rocky coast with many high cliffs and large rocks. One segment would be a small sandy cove, but for the most part it is a cold and largely inaccessible place where they are going.

Daisuke steps in line with the rest of the group, head down and without saying much. Usually he would scold Krysto for being late, but this time he didn't he just continued forward. He was on edge and wanted the mission to start.

Krysto walked on the far right of the group. For this mission he'd worn a black jacket with white strips running along the wrists and waist.

He was still bummed from losing such a close descision to arakui, but figured he had done a good job. Especially after fighting an uchiha.

He'd been training very hard in the forest, away from his teammates. He had been practicing a jutsu that would blow everyone away and couldnt wait to use it.

Arakui followed the Hokage and his team. He was excited to be on another mission with them.

Arakui ignored the fact that everyone was so down.

"Are we there yet?"

Tomoe is quite aware of the fact that so many on her team are subdued after the tournament. She is hoping that a mission will help clear their heads, brighten their spirits, and increase their confidence in themselves and their team. It will not due to have depressed and doubting genin with potential troubles in the future.

They arrive at the coastline and they can see a sandy cove far down below. They would be standing on a steep cliff that overlooks the cove and there is a cave further down on that beach. They just so happen to arrive at a time that there is a small ship anchored in the cove and some smaller rowboats and people at work moving some crates into the cave and some crates out of the cave. From where they are they can count 2 people on the deck of the anchored ship, a person in each of the two rowboats, and 4 more people working on the shore at hauling those crates.

"Fan out and see what you can observe. See what's in those crates and if there's evidence of contraband or illegal activity," Tomoe says to her genin. (OOC - up to you what you observe, just keep it consistent with whoever posts an interesting finding first.)

Daisuke fans out towards the crates out of the cave. Stealthily he goes through the first couple crates. Inside are normal everyday things, until finally he gets to a few crates that have been pushed behind the rest. He cracks the first one open to see rows of Crossbow Bolts. As he opens the next one he sees Crossbows. Sure enough, contraband. Enough to arm a small army. "Guys, I've got something," he says over the radio.

Krysto had been sneaking around attempting to get closer to the dock. He'd slid down the cliff and crawled over to a sand dune. He remained silent as his eyes were fixated on the small dock where the two bandits were working. He didn't notice any distinctive marks, and he couldnt quite see a village emblem on their person.

"What is it daisuke?"

Krysto whispered, not taking his eyes of the bandits.

Arakui investigates the crates in the cave. He sees more weapons. Kunai, Shuriken, and swords.

"Daisuke I see a bunch of weapons in these crates."

While her genin fan out to investigate, Tomoe keeps watch on the overall scene from on top of the cliffs. If her genin get into more trouble than they can handle, she'll be right there to help them, but first they need the opportunity to try for themselves. "Weapons?" she asks over the radio. "Give me details of what you've found."

"We've got crossbows and crates full of bolts for the cross bows." Daisuke analyzes them closer. Some of the bolt heads are a green tinge and others have visible modifications to them. Some even have seals wrapped around the shaft. "Looks like some of the bolts are poisoned. Other have explosive tags. Some even have seals on them, I'm not sure what they are." Daisuke could guessed there were anywhere from five thousand to ten thousand bolts.

"I see lots of Kunai, Shuriken, and swords."

Arakui hides behind one of the crates as a few workers walk into the cave.

"No movement on the dock sensei... Wait one more person got out of the boat but i cant quite make him out"

Krysto remained behind the sand dune. He then stealthily made his way under the docks, undiscovered by the hooligans

Tomoe remains watching from above. "Alright, if they're involved in weapon smuggling then we're going to need to take them in to the local authorities."

Both of the rowboats are currently ashore and there is one man each at them, unloading crates from them to be put into the cave. Another two men head out of the cave towards those boats to pick up crates. The genin would also see that there is a third man carrying a crate into the cave, entering it as he looks around at the rest of the crates to set the one he is carrying on top of another crate.

Daisuke takes no time in leaping from behind on the crates and darting toward the two men who had just made their way towards the cave. Throwing a kunai at one and a punch at the other Daisuke positioned himself in between them ready to attack.

The man in the cavern who was looking for a spot to set his crate down roughly drops it instead when Daisuke appears. It hits the ground heavily and with the clatter of many metal items. He's punched back into another pile of crates and lands awkwardly among them. "Heyyy!" he hollers to alert his comrades. "There's someone here!"

Meanwhile the kunai strikes another man walking away from the cave and he drops it as well when he receives the injury. He pulls some shuriken from a pouch and retaliates by throwing them into the cavern where Daisuke and Arakui are.

Meanwhile the other men on the shore stop what they are doing and take up weapons of their own, most opting for ninja tools like shuriken and kunai and general wariness of who might have infiltrated their cavern, but there are two men among them who have katanas.

"It appears someone has been found, i'll remain hidden for now. We'll surprise them soon enough"

Krysto held his position under the wooden dock. The bandits ontop had left to check out what the commotion was all about.

Arakui activates his Sharingan.

He throws shuriken towards the incomin one, deflecting all of them.

"Let's do this team one."

Arakui uses Ryuuka no Jutsu and sends six small fireballs towards the men with katanas and weapons.

Daisuke sprints past Arakui and thanks him for deflecting the shuriken. He rushes down to the dock where the armed men with Katana's are. "Let's go!" Daisuke dodges the first swing and throws a punch at his side, sending him to his knees. He finished the man off with a roundhouse kick, sending him flat on his back. While fighting the other Daisuke feels a sharp pain in his upper back. A sword came across his backside, the man had managed to send Daisuke to his knees, bleeding badly.

Daisuke turned around, angry, in pain, and ready to do something he never thought he would. Daisuke raised his kunai from its pouch and stuck it deep into his chest. With his hand covered in blood he twisted and removed the kunai.

"Shore secure."

Krysto grabs onto the dock ledge and pulls himself up. He looks the same as when the mission started.

"Well thanks for giving me a heads up, tho im surprised to see that there wasnt that many"

The men with katanas and weapons that are heading for the cave scatter to avoid the fireballs, nonetheless a couple of them are singed by the attack and then there's Daisuke on the scene securing the shore.

There is some commotion further out in the cove as those on the ship become aware of ongoings on shore, yet they make no motions to come to shore themselves, particularly with the rowboats on shore, essentially stranding them out on the ship (unless they were to pull anchor and sail off).

At the word that the shore is secured, Tomoe hops down to join her genin on the beach to have a look around. "You'll need to take care of them, too." She points to the boat out in the cove. "They are certainly part of this smuggling operation."
