[Quarterfinals] Zen Tankou vs. Tonou Erra [Finished]

Welcome to the Quarterfinals! Each of you has six posts each to fight. A panel judges with determine who wins. Remember you are Genin! No meta-gaming, assuming hits, etc.

Tonou stares at Zen silently. Not sure what is opponent specializes in, he decided to go in with what he is best at, Taijutsu. Tonou dashes forward attempting to land Fury Fists, a D Ranked 8 punch barrage guided by Fuuton that leaves only a split-second between each attack.

He was disappointed when he looked at the bracket boards. He was the only Kumo ninja still in the game. Nevertheless, the village's heightened expectations of him maintained his morale. Furthermore, the last match gave him the desire to outshine this opponent so he'd feel worthy of remaining in the fight. Entering the battlefield, he saw his opponent, a ninja of Konohagakure. He must not lose here.

Tonou dashed right towards him, to which Zen reacted to by shoving his hands into his trusty ninja tools. With a flick of his right hand, he tossed out two shurikens, thrown at high linear velocities. One of them was aimed for the middle of Tonou's chest, which has the largest surface area out of the other parts of the human body meaning the chances of the shuriken hitting Tonou are maximized in that area. The other projectile aimed for Tonou's knee, trying to nail his leg to impede any future movements.

Tonou knowing his best bet for landing Fury Fists was to take the shuriken attack, decided to deflect the one aimed at his knee with a shuriken of his own, and use his other arm to block the second shuriken aimed for his chest. His forearm took the brunt of the shuriken, causing it to stick and bleed. His arm was still functional. Now, next to Zen, he would attempt Fury Fists.

Tonou took the attack without it significantly impairing his ability to fight. Zen could tell that he was a tough guy, and he really wanted to come at Zen. That was just fine with him. Keeping himself steady, he drew out his katana almost in an Iai-like fashion, and followed it up with a strong slash at Tonou's torso right as he threw out the first punch that was part of his Fury Fists. The silverish arc which neatly cut the air, would have left a severe gash on Tonou's chest, but with his fists getting in the way, they would have to substitute to take the damage instead.

As the unsheathing struck Tonou's arms, causing them to bleed, Tonou attempted another chakra infused blow at Zen, Oukashou. He was basically trading blow for a slash from the katana, keying on the chakra-infused punch to out damage that of the blade already in motion. The release of chakra from the punch if it connected would send Zen backwards a solid 20 feet.

Spoiler:

An unexpected force sent him reeling away several meters. It was huge and violent, as if a sledgehammer just came his way. Though the edge of his blade was the target, energy still passed through Zen's body. He could not help but be sent flying back, landing on his chest. His grip over his blade slacked as he was flying, landing with its tip into the ground right next to him. Except it's very shape and structure was bent and distorted - it looked more like an ugly sickle than anything. Hardly something that can be put to use from now on. As he got up, he noticed that a small bleeding wound appeared on his shoulder. When he was repelled by the punch, the blade must have grazed him along the way.

That seismic punch right now....this guy is a heavy hitter. With what he did to my blade, even my steel body would have a dent or two from a direct punch. Leave it to Konohagakure to kink out techniques like that...

He knew that it'd be better to secure the distance from now on. Keeping himself crouched near the ground, Zen formulated two hand seals before ending with a third seal and then slammed one hand on the ground while keeping the other near his hips.

"Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm"

The earth before him was ravaged and shattered, as an earthquake rippled towards Tonou and would continue until it reached the end of the tournament stage. The attack would crush his feet if he remained on the ground.

Tonou reacted to the Earth Release by leaping as high in the air as he could as the ground began to shatter before him, landing uneven and stumbling after the ripple had passed. Tonou removes all four shuriken from his pouch and releases them towards Zen and then activates Gone with the Wind, increasing Tonou's speed and agility for two posts.

Tonou dealt with the earthquake admirably as Zen had wanted. His coal-like eyes watched intently as the high leap was taken, opening up a opportunity for Zen - Tonou was vulnerable while in mid-air. With the hand that was near his hip, right on one of his ninja pouches, he snatched the black -onyx knife known as "kunai" with a piece of paper attached to it and launched it with flickering speed. It landed a foot in front of Tonou right as he landed on his feet prior to stumbling.

The paper, an exploding tag, would detonate right after Tonou launched his own four shurikens. The blast radius would burn his legs and level some debris from the ruptured ground. Anything that could fuel the explosive flames would only augment its destructive potential to a crippling level.

Four shurikens came his way. Still crouched, Zen would execute a horizontal sweep kick to try to knock away the shurikens. While two were deflected, one pierced his big toe from the bottom of his shoe while another one struck his heel. A grimace of pain replaced the usual neutral expression on his face. He went on to take out the two shurikens that were stuck to the bottom of his shoe.

The explosive tag sent Tonou reeling backwards. Tumbling his managed to grab his footing. A lot of the damage had singed his clothing and tore up his shoes, but he was still good to go. Using his advanced speed and the smoke from the explosion as a screen he went flying towards Zen. He would attempt a Winded Double Kick to Zen.

Winded Double Kick:

"Guh....." Zen grunted as he removed his shoe, taking away the ningu that were stuck to it. He noticed two bloody dots on the bottom of his feet where the two shurikens hit. He would have to patch that up so he could run on his two feet again. With chakra running through his fingers, he placed them along the metal of the wrecked katana for metal absorption. As there was still the same amount there as in its original shape, steel colored all of Zen's body, stopping any further bleeding. He got back up. The pain quickly went away, but more was to come. Especially to the face.

"ULP!"

With his accelerated velocity and increased momentum, Tonou came flying at him with two barefooted kicks. One to the chest and the other to his head. The interval between the two attacks was so instantaneous to Zen that they felt like two different attacks. He certainly didn't want to smell the bottom of another kid's feet, either. The wind-enhanced kicks knocked him back a few meters, but he didn't lose his footing. Nothing was knocked away from his person, including his pouch which was open. Furthermore, the pain wasn't troubling to Zen at all, for his steel body would have taken in most of the energy that came from Tonou's kicks. If anything, some of that energy would have been bounced back on Tonou's burnt legs to injure them even further.

"Heh.... looks like you don't kick nearly as hard as you punch" muttered Zen as he came at Tonou at an increased high speed to kick Tonou's knee by trying to stomp on it with his metallic foot. The impact would severely fracture the bone.

Spoiler:

Tonou's increase of speed allowed him to move away from the kick just enough to not suffer any bone fractures, thought the bruising caused by the shot would be severe. Tonou used this chance to drop to one knee and use his remaining chakra to form one final Oukashou. Forwarding what chakra he had left into his right hand, he delivered a punch towards Zen's metallic gut with all of his might, releasing all of the chakra from his fist if it connected.

"OUKASHOU!"

Oukashou:

His stomp failed to reach the target, but Zen knew that as the both of them enter a close quarters duel with each other, both of them have to give it all that they've got, as if they were risking their own lives. Zen's right hand took out his final exploding kunai - the last hope. He forwarded his legs towards Tonou at burst speed and went on to drive the kunai against his body. As Tonou's wind jutsu's effect would have timed up, Zen held the speed advantage with his body. The first attack to reach the other would be decided by that.

"GUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!" he cried out, letting out the ferocity that represented Kumogakure's brutal might. As if to say: For Kumo!

Zen would have the kunai, struck against any part of Tonou's body, explode on contact. Though many would regard this as a kamikaze tactic, Zen would be mostly protected from this suicidal attempt because of his steel body. Tonou, on the other hand, with an already damaged body, would take all of this at point-blank.

Two boys overworking themselves to the end with blood, sweat, and tears dedicate all of their power to this final gesture of combat.

OOC: Last post. Judges decide outcome.

The explosions causes both players to fall. Tonou arrises because of the Oukashou attack just before the initial explosion. Tonou Erra wins.

(ooc: Judges came to the conclusion that Tonou's final attack would of done more damage in comparison to Zens.)
